What is Blockit?

• Blockit is an intelligent scheduling assistant service provided over email and Slack.
• Users connect their calendars to Blockit. Each time they use Blockit, the user adds a Blockit designated email address ([email protected]) to an email thread. Blockit then emails from ([email protected]) acting as the user’s assistant to propose times, evaluate suggested times, and create and edit meeting invites on behalf of the user. The calendar events will be created on the user’s own calendar.

How does Blockit use AI?

• Blockit’s AI capabilities are powered by secure integrations with OpenAI and Anthropic. When you engage with AI-driven features, only the necessary data is shared with these providers to fulfill your request.
• Under our commercial contractual terms with both OpenAI and Anthropic, the use of content for training their AI models is prohibited. Your user data is not used to train any AI models — not with Blockit or our model providers.

Breakdown of Blockit’s AI Utilization:

• Blockit uses AI to enhance how we interpret and respond to scheduling-related emails. We combine the flexibility and nuance of natural language understanding—powered by models from OpenAI and Anthropic—with the reliability and predictability of deterministic code.
• When a user receives an email with scheduling intent—for example, “How’s Tuesday at 2 or 4pm?” — Blockit uses AI to parse and convert the natural language into structured, machine-readable data. This enables our system to accurately extract time ranges, intent, and contextual nuances from otherwise unstructured content.
• Once parsed, the structured data is processed using deterministic code developed in-house. Blockit analyzes the proposed times against the user’s calendar metadata using a proprietary scoring algorithm. This ensures scheduling decisions are driven by consistent, transparent criteria rather than opaque AI models.
• After viable options are determined, AI is used once more to generate clear, human-like email responses. These are sent automatically from [email protected], helping users save time and maintain professional communication.

Blockit is SOC2 Type 2 accredited, a Google verified email app, a Microsoft verified Cloud Partner and CASA 2 accredited.

Blockit regularly undergoes penetration tests to proactively identify and address security concerns.

Blockit has been thoroughly assessed by a Google-designated third-party security auditor, which verifies that:
